Your energy is precious. The way you live, the people you surround yourself with, and the choices you make every day all influence how you feel.
Are you tired of being tired? Waking up exhausted, feeling emotionally drained, lacking motivation, or simply not feeling like yourself?
What if the answer isn’t always about doing more, pushing harder, or finding another quick fix?
What if it’s time to look at your habits, your environment, the people around you, and the energy you allow into your life?
Everything we experience has the potential to influence our physical, emotional, mental, and energetic wellbeing. Yet so often, we move through life unconsciously, without recognising just how much our daily surroundings and choices affect us.
The good news? Awareness is the first step towards change.

The People Around You Influence Your Energy
Have you ever spent time with someone and walked away feeling completely drained? Or met someone whose presence made you feel uplifted, inspired, and full of life?
Every interaction creates an exchange. From an energetic perspective, we are constantly influencing and being influenced by the people around us.
The people we surround ourselves with, the conversations we engage in, and even brief encounters can affect how we feel.
Sometimes, without realising it, we become caught up in someone else’s story. Perhaps they are constantly projecting drama, negativity, fear, or frustration. Their patterns may be so deeply ingrained that they are not even aware of them.
And if we are not conscious of our own boundaries, we can find ourselves emotionally participating in their reality.
Suddenly, their drama becomes our stress. Their fears become our worries. Their emotional patterns begin to influence our state of being.
This is why energetic awareness and healthy boundaries are so important.
You can care about someone without carrying their emotional burdens. You can listen without absorbing everything. You can be compassionate without losing yourself in someone else’s story.
Pay attention to how you feel around certain people. Your emotional responses may be telling you something important.
Your Environment Holds Energy Too
Think about the places you spend most of your time.
Your home. Your workplace. The spaces you visit. The environments you return to every day.
How do they make you feel?
Do you feel peaceful, inspired, creative, and relaxed? Or do you feel tense, overwhelmed, restless, or emotionally heavy?
From a holistic perspective, spaces have an energetic quality shaped by the atmosphere, experiences, and people within them.
A home filled with constant arguments, stress, and tension can feel very different from one where people cultivate love, creativity, laughter, and connection.
Our physical surroundings matter too. Clutter, noise, poor lighting, and a lack of fresh air or natural beauty can influence our mood and sense of wellbeing.
Creating a nurturing environment doesn’t mean having a perfect home or an expensive lifestyle.
Sometimes it is as simple as opening the windows, clearing unnecessary clutter, bringing nature indoors, playing uplifting music, or creating a quiet space where you can reconnect with yourself.
Ask yourself: Is my environment supporting my energy or draining it?
Your Daily Habits Shape How You Feel
We cannot talk about energy without looking at the habits we repeat every day.
What we eat, how we sleep, how we move, and how we manage stress all influence our physical and emotional wellbeing.
Drinking excessive alcohol, regularly choosing foods that leave us feeling sluggish, and neglecting our body’s nutritional needs can affect our vitality.
In holistic wellbeing, people sometimes describe certain foods and habits as low vibrational. While this is a spiritual rather than a scientific classification, the underlying invitation is valuable: become more conscious of how your choices make you feel.
Sleep is another essential part of the picture.
When we consistently deprive ourselves of adequate rest, our bodies and minds do not have the recovery time they need. Over time, this can leave us feeling physically exhausted, emotionally reactive, and mentally overwhelmed.
And then there is stress.
Chronic stress can be one of the biggest drains on our wellbeing. When our nervous system remains in a constant state of alert, relaxation and recovery become more difficult.
We may begin to feel disconnected from ourselves, as though we are simply surviving rather than truly living.
The question is not whether you are doing everything perfectly.
The question is whether your daily habits are nourishing you or slowly depleting you.
Awareness Is Where Transformation Begins
One of the most powerful things you can do is become aware of your patterns.
Not with judgement. Not with guilt. But with curiosity and compassion.
Notice what drains you.
Notice what uplifts you.
Notice which relationships leave you feeling inspired and which ones leave you feeling exhausted.
Notice how your body responds to the food you eat, the sleep you get, the conversations you have, and the environments you spend time in.
You may begin to recognise that some of the things you have accepted as normal are no longer serving you.
And this is where your power lies.
Because once you become aware of a pattern, you have an opportunity to make a different choice.
You don’t need to transform your entire life overnight.
In fact, lasting change often begins with one small, conscious decision.
Choose One Thing Today
So, are you tired of being tired?
Then I invite you to choose just one thing today.
Perhaps it is setting a boundary with someone who constantly pulls you into drama.
Perhaps it is creating a more peaceful environment at home.
Perhaps it is choosing nourishing food, reducing alcohol, prioritising sleep, or giving yourself permission to rest.
Perhaps it is simply taking ten minutes to sit quietly, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
Whatever you choose, make it intentional.
Because what you choose today can influence how you feel tomorrow.
Every conscious choice is an opportunity to move towards greater balance, vitality, and alignment.
Sometimes the Journey Requires Going Deeper
Of course, there are times when changing our external habits and surroundings is only part of the journey.
Sometimes the exhaustion we experience is connected to deeper emotional patterns, unresolved fears, limiting beliefs, or aspects of ourselves we have been avoiding.
In spiritual and personal development work, this is often called shadow work.
Facing our shadows is not always comfortable. It asks us to look honestly at ourselves, recognise unconscious patterns, and explore the fears that may be holding us back.
Yet this deeper inner work can also create opportunities for healing, self-awareness, and personal transformation.
For those seeking to raise their vibration and feel more aligned with themselves, exploring these deeper layers can be an important part of the journey.
But this is a topic deserving of its own space, and one I will explore in my next article.
Your Energy, Your Choices, Your Life
You have more influence over your daily experience than you may realise.
Not everything in life is within our control, and not every form of tiredness can be resolved through lifestyle changes alone. Persistent or unexplained fatigue can also have medical causes and deserves appropriate attention.
But there are many areas of life where greater awareness can help us make more supportive choices.
You can choose to create healthier boundaries.
You can choose environments that nourish your wellbeing.
You can choose habits that support your body and mind.
You can choose to become more conscious of where your energy goes.
And most importantly, you can choose to begin today.
You don’t have to change everything. Just start with one thing.
Because becoming more vibrant, balanced, and aligned is not about becoming someone else.
It is about reconnecting with yourself.
